Happy 1st Birthday MiGS!!
Two-Layered Cake from Atila's Cafe
We celebrated with a party last Saturday at Max's Diner in San Ramon, CA. There were lots of food and we enjoyed the company of our closest friends in the area.
Today, MiGS had his one-year-old check-up. Though he's not at his best health, as he has been having this stomach bug for the past several days, his measurements seemed still very normal.
He weighed 20lbs 9oz, his height is now 28 inches and his head circumference is now 18.5inches.
By the way, he now has 3 of his lower teeth with the first front top tooth almost ready to come out.
Even more great progress is that he has made his first few steps on his own just a night before his birthday. See this video below taken a few days after he made his first steps.

MiGS is Now 11 Months Old

Time surely flies when you're having fun. One more month and our little boy will be one year old.
At this stage, he's starting to show his personality. He's still well behaved but he's really just active. And that's not a bad thing and supposedly, it's normal for boys to be moving a lot more than girls.
He crawls really fast now, sometimes even faster than his arms could move. He stands up more now than before and a lot less scared of walking, assisted of course. He now would take our hands and slightly pull them whenever he feels like walking. Here's another video that we took of him while practicing how to walk. We're so excited to see him start walking on his own.

He is now clapping his hands. And as far as learning how to walk, I think he decided to keep crawling first. He crawls all over the floor like he's been doing it for a long time. It seems now that he is really comfortable crawling, he is now a bit more afraid to stand up and take steps. We're not losing hope, of course, we'll let him take his time.
Miguel Turns 9 Months Old
He is now 19lbs heavy, 27inches tall (tall because he now can stand up) and his head circumference is 18 inches.
He's been progressing almost to the dot. He has recently been able to stand on his own without holding on to anything. Certainly, he's now able to crawl (very fast, I might add) without any problems and he sits up on his own with ease.

He's also been feeding on solid foods, mostly rice, cereal and lots of vegetables. But we've also tried introducing chicken, pork and fish recently. And as before, he eats anything that we give him without any complaints (or violent reactions).
The only thing we noticed recently is that he's starting to show some separation anxiety. It's normal, apparently, and should just be a phase that he'll have to go through. Nonetheless, he's been progressing and behaving like a normal healthy little boy.
So, our next check up will be on his 1st birthday this November. He'll be getting some vaccine shot then.
Time sure flies yet we can't wait till he starts walking.

MiGS is Now 6 Months Old
Chantilly Cake from Wholefoods Market
He's been more active and now able to roll on either side with ease. Which makes it more difficult to change his diapers.
He seems to prefer to be held upright, standing up than laying down. Each time, a perfect opportunity for him to jump up and down. Now that he is getting heavier, holding him is really becoming a challenge.
But as much as our arms and shoulders hurt holding him while he jumps up and down to his heart's content, it gives us so much joy that he's been doing so well, progressing and growing to be as healthy as he can be.. and ever cheerful.. Thank God.
MiGS is now 5 Months Old
He's growing fast, too fast, it seems. It seemed only yesterday when he was born and we can hold his head in one hand.
What they say about the joys of parenthood is so true. You could not fully appreciate what your parents have done for you until you have your own kids. So you need to cherish and enjoy every moment you have with them.

MiGS' Progress: Introducing Solid Food
We gave him Earth's Best Organic Infant Rice Cereal (Buy it from Baby MiGS Baby Store) mixed with formula. At first he tried to get a feel and taste of it in his mouth then after he was asking for more.
We've looked at other similar products but so far, this is what we think is best for MiGS.
By the way, we weighed him last night. He's now slightly more than 15lbs.
MiGS' Progress: Rolling Over
MiGS has now learned to roll-over. It is truly amazing how fast he's growing. The downside of this, however, is that we can't just leave him alone on the bed. He rolls-over on his tummy and back to move around and so now even changing his diapers has become a real challenge.
One other thing that we noticed is that he really is a strong baby and he likes to move about a lot. He also enjoys playing in his Jumperoo and Exersaucer and likes standing up. It seems like he wants to walk first before he learns to crawl.

MiGS is Now 4 Months Old
MiGS has reached yet another milestone today, his 4th month. Coincidentally, we also had a check-up with Dr. Christi Klimisch.
MiGS and his cake
He now weighs 13lbs 15oz (within the 25th percentile), is 24 3/4 inches long (within the 30th percentile) and his head now has 16inches circumference (within the 40th percentile).

He also had his next batch of vaccines and as expected, he did not like the needles. He cried really hard but only for a short while.
But what was most interesting was when Dr.Klimisch had MiGS lay on his tummy, he attempted to crawl, twice. That was the first. At four months, he tried crawling before he can even turn-over by himself. We'll post that video shortly.
So, over all he's growing and progressing normally and he's very healthy. Though, the doctor said we should expect MiGS to be fussy and possibly run a slight fever from the vaccine shots in the next two days.
